Mesleki Yabancı Dil Eğitiminin Sürdürülebilir Gelişmeye Katkıları

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Türkiye'de meslekî lise ve meslek yüksekokullarında yabancı dil eğitiminin etkinliğini incelemek ve bu okullarda yabancı dil eğitiminin meslekî eğitim ile bütünleşip bütünleşmediğini araştırmak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Meslekî eğitim, yalnızca gerekli bilgileri değil, aynı zamanda başka kültürlerle iletişim kurabilme ve bilgi çağına ayak uydurabilme yeteneğini kazanmak olarak değerlendirilir. Bu bağlamda, meslekî eğitimi yabancı dil eğitimiyle donatma gerekliliği yadsınamaz. Yabancı dil eğitimi; disiplinlerarasi, katılımcı ve yenilikçi bir eğitimi gerektiren sürdürülebilir gelişmenin ilkelerini desteklemelidir. Bu doğrultuda, mesleklerin yabancı dil bilgisine duydukları ihtiyacı karşılamak ve sürdürülebilir gelişmenin ilkelerini ve Avrupa Komisyonu Yabancı Diller Ortak Kriterleri'ni yerine getirmek amacıyla ülkemizde meslekî lise ve meslek yüksekokullarında birden fazla yabancı dil etkin bir biçimde öğretilmelidir.

This study aims to examine the efficiency of foreign language education in vocational high schools and vocational schools within universities in Turkey and also to observe whether foreign language education in such schools is in compliance with vocational education or not. Vocational education is considered not only as acquiring the necessary knowledge, but also acquiring the skills for communicating with the other cultures and keeping up with the information era. In this context, the need for equipping vocational education with foreign language education is undeniable. Foreign language education should support the principles of sustainable development which requires an interdisciplinary, participative and innovative education. To this end, more than one foreign language should be taught efficiently in vocational high schools and vocational schools in our country in order to meet the requirements of vocations, the principles of sustainable developments and the criteria of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
