XlX. Yüzyılın İlk Yarısında Muğla'da Evlilik Kurumu

Abstract

Bu makale, XIX, Yüzyıl ortalarında Muğla şehrindeki evlilik kurumunun oluşumu ve evlilikler sırasında karşılaşılan sorunları içermektedir. Söz kesme ve nişan merasimi ile başlayan evlilik süreci tarafların kendi beyanları ve rızaları ile yapılan nikah akdi ile tamamlanmaktadır. Evlilik sırasında mutlaka mehr tespiti ve evlilğin topluma duyurulması için halkın katılımıyla gerçekleşen düğünler yapılırdı. Ancak, kızın bakire olmaması, yaşı, eşlerin sosyal ve ekonomik yönden denkliği, vekil veya velinin rızasının olmaması ve din farklılığı evlilikler sırasında karşılaşılan en önemli sorunlar olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır.

This article, is not only related to the foundation of the institution of marriage but also to the problems faced in the course of its foundation. The duration of getting married which begins with the ceremony of aggrement for marriage and engagement, ends up with the act of marriage done with the consents and declaration of both sides. During the marriage, the determination of mehr (certain amount of maney given by the bride- groom to the bride just before the marriage ceremony) and the marriage ceremony done to declare it to the public is realized by the participation of people. However, the most important problems that we face during the marriage the question of virginity and the age of the bride; the equality of the couples from a social and economic point of view; the discontent of the parents; religious difference.
