Usage of Ecological Dye in Wood and Surface Roughness
Abstract
In the study, natural dye production from waste tea which, our country is one of the main sources and human / environmentally friendly was performed. In addition, surface roughness changes of wood are determined. Impregnation was carried out according to ASTM-D 1413-76 in consideration of the strong holding property of the produced paint and surface roughness value was determined by applying water-based varnish. The tree species were Scotch pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) and Oriental beech (Fagus orientalis Lipsky). According to the experimental results, surface roughness was found the highest value at Scotch pine (4.72 mu m and 4.66 mu m) and the lowest value at Oriental beech wood (3.83 mu m and 4.52 mu m) in the control sample and application of ecological tea paint, while the highest at Oriental beech wood (3.83 mu m) and the lowest value was Scotch pine wood in water-based varnish. In addition, it was detemined that there is a significant relationship between the anatomical structure of the wood and the application of water-based varnish on roughness.
