The book’s conclusion (‘The Future of Ethiopians and Rastafari in the Promised Land’, 239) assesses the depth of the existing gap between Rastafari repatriates established in Shashemene and Ethiopians. Can the clash between Rastafari idealized return ‘home’ and the Ethiopian contemporary reality in the post-imperial context be resolved?
