Sacrifice-Related Verses In the Old Testament and Koran and Its Reflection to the Oral Tradition in Dalaman/Mugla
Abstract
Today, as it was before, in Turkish societies we have been facing with sacrifices that constitute important part of worship in oath, funeral, wedding ceremonies, achieving a success, desiring to have a child, desiring to get rid of diseases and after being saved in order to be thankful and being protected evilness, wishing to have properties and in more situations. In the present study, based on the concept of "sacrifice", as old as the human history, the cult of sacrifice existing in ancient Turks is elaborated and the practice of sacrifice and verses related to this practice in supernal religions have been mentioned. In the article, it has been tried to present that the folkloric believes have changed so that they could be traditional by comparing the oral works produced on the concept of sacrifice and how it is mentioned in holy books in Dalaman, Mugla. So, cultural transfer of this ritual in a region in progress of history has been presented,
